Jonathan D. Mitchell
I am a PhD student at The University of Western Australia Oceans Institute, and I am currently researching shark depredation in recreational fisheries of north-west Western Australia. My research interests are shark ecology and fisheries science and how they link together. I have conducted previous research on the catch-per-unit-effort of blue sharks in a recreational fishery in the UK, as well as assisting with research projects in the Bahamas, which focused on the habitat use of juvenile lemon sharks and the effects of longline capture on deepwater sharks. I am looking to continue my research on shark depredation in Australian fisheries, either through a postdoctoral position or by working for a government marine research agency.
